Join us for our 11th Anniversary Be the Light Gala, presented by Subaru, USA, on Friday, August 18th from 5-9 pm at L'Auberge Del Mar. Shelter to Soldier's largest annual fundraiser, this event raises critical funds to support the rescue dogs and veterans served by the program's mission. Guests will enjoy musical entertainment by Lady Rebecca Jade, small bites, libations and silent auction, three-course dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean, event swag bags, and memorable moments with veteran recipients and the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors. Our exciting silent and live auction will be emceed by Clint Bell. All proceeds from the event will benefit Shelter to Soldier's programs serving military, veterans, and homeless dogs in need of a forever home and life of purpose.

Shelter to Soldier is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Military Sexual Trauma (MST). The program also places emotional support animals (ESAs) with veterans and active duty military and deploy the STS Canine Ambassadors, a team of certified therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, to provide visits of love and comfort to local military, veterans and their families.We hope you’ll join our efforts with your contribution to our largest fundraising event of the year! First Course: Mixed Baby Field Greens Salad (GF) – tart cranberries, goat cheese, spiced pecans, red wine vinaigrette

Protein Entrée: Baja Braised Prime Beef Short Rib (GF) – blue corn polenta, achiote baby carrots, crispy quinoa, herb salad

Vegetarian Entrée: Butternut Squash Ravioli (Vegan) – artichoke, heirloom tomato, arrabbiata (Please indicate Vegetarian entree in your ticket/table reservation)

Dessert: Flourless Chocolate Cake (GF) – bailey’s icing, blackberry cassis sauce

Shelter to Soldier is committed to “Saving Lives, Two at a Time.” Through our life-saving program, veterans are given the valuable resource of an assistance animal during a time that they feel lost and alone. Shelter dogs are given a second chance and a purpose outside of the shelter much different than a past that has felt abandonment.  Our Be the Light Gala is a critical component of our annual fundraising efforts and contributes significantly to the impact we are able to make in the dog rescue and veteran communities in Southern California.
